The eagerly awaited ‘Investiture Ceremony for the academic session 2019-20 was held on 28th June. There was an aura of expectancy as the beaming faces of the newly selected student council members welcomed the gathering.

The Chief Guest of the day Shri K Harish, Chairman VVI was received by the newly elected student council and the school band. The function commenced with the invocation by the school choir followed by march past, pinning of badges, oath taking and a dance performance.

The Chief Guest of the day Shri K Harish, emphasised on the importance of creativity, deep reading and empathy, as the 21st century competencies to be nurtured and encouraged among students, in the fast-changing world. He encouraged the students to be at their best and contribute to the well-being of the school as well as the society. He laid stress on the fact that success comes when preparation meets opportunity.

“The art of practicing yoga helps in controlling an individual’s mind, body and soul. It brings together physical and mental disciplines to achieve a peaceful body and mind”

The International Yoga Day was celebrated on 21st June at Vagdevi Vilas School, Whitefield . It was a great opportunity to imbibe the value of discipline. All the students performed yoga and the students of class V to IX performed various asanas and chanted shlokas. Students got the opportunity to know how yoga embodies unity of mind and body.

Environment Day was celebrated on  19th  June 2019, Wednesday. The function began with a special Vandana by the school choir. Awareness on conservation of earth was created among the students through a variety of cultural programmes.

Many events such as Book Mark Making, Drawing and Colouring Competition, Best out of Waste Competition, Slogan Writing Competition, Placard Making Competition etc. were held on the theme Save Earth and Beat Air Pollution. Principal appealed to the students and teachers to adopt green ways of life.

A mime show was presented depicting the plight of environment caused by air pollution. It was followed by a skit where they expressed their views on the human activities that destroys the Environment and the importance of protecting the environment.

A group song on parisara, speech on environmental issues were the highlights of the programme. Students administered green pledge.

The programme concluded with vote of thanks followed by Vagdevi Anthem.
