An informative and interactive workshop on ‘Fun with Science and Mathematics’ was conducted on 26.11.19 by Shri Hiriyanna, former scientist of ISRO at Vagdevi Vilas School , Whitefield. The workshop was aimed at arousing the interest of the young minds in Math and Science. Students participated in an exclusive satellite model making activity in which they learnt to make a static model of the IRNSS satellite. This was followed by another session in which working of air rocket was demonstrated along with a rocket launching session. The students actively participated and learnt the logic behind it.

The session was organized as part of the ‘Interactive Session with Scientists’ by R&D department of Vagdevi Vilas Institutions. Sessions like this are aimed at enhancing the scientific intrigue among students.

Handwriting Workshop was held at Vagdevi Vilas School, Whitefield on 24th July 2019 for the students of Std IV to VI by an eminent personality, Shri.Y.Mallikarjun, the Director of National Handwriting Academy. He is an expert in Calligraphy, Graphology and Graphotherapy. He has authored 16 books on the subject. The session was very interesting. The speaker explained the importance of having a beautiful handwriting. Students were so happy to attend the workshop. He gave a few techniques to improve their handwriting. The audience were mesmerised seeing his handwriting. The speaker encouraged an interactive session thereby clearing the doubts of the audience.   Handouts of 260 connection of letters were distributed among the students. The session was indeed beneficial and a much needed one. All the students promised the speaker that they will be implementing the techniques that he had shared to improve their handwriting. It was a very useful session for the students to improve their handwriting. The session was really worth, informative and creative. This session has created an impact on the students making them think about the importance of improving their handwriting.

Vagdevi Vilas School, Whitefield celebrated the 73rd Independence Day with festivity and patriotic fervour. The chief guest of the day, Shri K Harish, Chairman,  Vagdevi Vilas Institutions hoisted the National Flag. The school band along with the four houses participated in the March Past. The chief guest inspired the gathering with his motivating speech. He urged every citizen to own up the responsibility of helping our motherland to reach the pinnacle of its glory.

The spirit of freedom and nationalism was well exhibited by the students through a spectrum of cultural programmes like patriotic song, dance, elocution and fancy dress. Committed to the task of nation building, students at VVS,W pledged to serve their motherland through spreading education and serving the community. The program concluded with the vote of thanks followed by the National Song.
