 “Grandchildren are the dots that connect the lines from generation to generation”

A tribute to our Roots.

To honour & acknowledge the unconditional love, to express our gratitude & respect towards, grandparents — everything they do and everything that they stand for. Vagdevi Vilas School Whitefield celebrated Grandparents day on 14th October 2022 with great enthusiasm and fervor.

The event began with an invocation to the Lord, seeking his blessings. Students extended a warm welcome to their grandparents and participated in multifarious cultural programmes to welcome their dada dadis & nana nanis. The enthralling performances by the little angles left the grandparents mesmerized and spell bound.

The chief guest of the day Chairman VVI, addressed the audience and asserted the importance of having grandparents and realize their role in educating their grandchildren.

There were some fun- activities for the grandparents like playing ‘Musical Chair, Passing the Ball, on spot games’ were organised. All grandparents participated enthusiastilly and won prizes. A special photograph was also clicked with their grandchild to capture the beautiful bond between the two generations. The success of the event was evident through the happy and joyful smiles of the parents & grandparents. The event culminated with a vote of thanks followed by Shanti Mantra.

It was a memorable day for the Grandparents — one they will cherish for a long time.

FIRELESS COOKING

Activity- Cooking Without Fire
Cooking with peers is not just about ingredients, recipes and cooking. It harness their imagination, empowerment and creativity.

Fireless cooking activity was conducted with a view to help students know the importance of team work and integrity. The aim of the activity was to provide a platform to the students to showcase their talent and explore new areas of interest.

Students made lip smacking dishes like – Sandwich,Panipuri, Bhelpuri ,Sprout Chaat, and Monaco Sevpuri etc. In a nutshell students got an exposure to participate in culinary competition in upcoming days.

CLAY MODELLING

Activity- Clay Modelling

Clay Modelling is so much of fun.It is an activity which nurtures child’s creativity, boosts imaginations and imbibes self-confidence. As it is known that Lord Ganesha is among the favourite gods of children, Our young students are leaving no stone unturned in welcoming their lovable Vinayaka.

FANCY DRESS

Activity- Fancy Dress

Our young leaders of VVS Whitefield, paid their homage to our freedom fighters by participating in Fancy Dress Competition. The motive of this activity was to connect children to our History and be respectful towards our nation.

INDEPENDANCE DAY CELEBRATIONS

Activity- Independence Day Celebration

Our school celebrated Independence Day on 15 August 2022 with great joy and pomp. The school campus was beautifully decorated with flags and balloons to commemorate the day. On that day the sense of happiness and pride could be clearly seen on the faces of all the people as India was celebrating its 76th Independence Day on 15th August 2022.

The program started at 9;45 AM with the welcome of our honourable chief guest, Dr. Manjula Devi, Academic Advisor Vagdevi Vilas Institutions. The school band formally welcomed the chief Guest and she was escorted for the flag hoisting by our Principal Smt Dimple Jana. After paying her obeisance to Bharat Mata, the chief guest unfurled and hoisted the flag. The National Anthem “Jana Gana Mana” was sung by one and all with great pride and patriotism.

Thereafter, the audience were treated to a variety of cultural programs. Students of all classes participated. Some students sang patriotic songs and some recited poems. Some made speeches. There was even a mass drill, Yoga Display and dance too. The Chief guest and Principal gave inspiring speeches that awakened everyone’s feelings towards the Mother Land.

The program ended with a Vote of Thanks.

The Independence Day has a great importance in every citizen’s life. This day reminds us every year that freedom is sacred and citizens must do everything to ensure that it shall not be endangered.

JHULA MAKING ACTIVITY

Activity- Jhula Making-Krishna Janmashtami

It’s a time of the year when lord Krishna is welcomed home and the auspicious day is celebrated as Janmashtami.From a simple one to a beautifully decorated piece, our students of class V & VI have used their creativity to design Jhula for the eighth avatar of Lord Vishnu.

POT COLOURING ACTIVITY

Activity- Pot Colouring

Pot painting activity is indeed a fun filled activity for the students of grade III & IV adding contrasting colour polka dots all over the surface or painting foliage or flowers all over the pots, students have used their creativity and imagination.

RAKHI  MAKING ACTIVITY

Activity- Rakhi Making

To commemorate the festival of Rakshabandhan. Rakhi making activity was conducted to emphasize the virtuous bond of love between a brother and a sister which is one of the deepest of all human emotions. The students of standard III & IV were guided to decorate the base of the Rakhi using decorative materials. Our young children thoroughly enjoyed this activity that tickled their creative side.

EDUCATIONAL TRIP TO HAL MUSEUM FOR CLASS I TO IV

Activity- Field Trip to HAL Standard I to IV

The students of Grade I to IV were taken on a guided tour shown the different models of aircrafts in HAL Aerospace Museum India’s first aerospace museum located at Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, Bangalore.

The trip proved to be enjoyable, informative and inspiring for the students.

Inspiring Leaders, Making a Difference.

Vagdevi Vilas School, Whitefield held the Investiture with great pomp and zeal for the year 2022-2023.

Wearing impeccable suits, maintaining an air of dignity and adhering to strict code of moral discipline our leaders were a demonstration of how our school marches forward.

Our dear Chairman, Shri.K. Harish Sir obliged us as the Guest of Honour for the day. He congratulated the newly appointed leaders for their preparedness to take responsibilities. The day was a glowing testimonial for the students will to take small but purposeful steps.

We wish the newly elected leaders the very best.

On the occasion of ‘World Environment Day a plethora of activities were conducted for the students of Std I -X with an aim to develop love for the Green Environment and to save it.

Students were suffused with great fervour and energy to spread the important message of taking care of the environment.
